Elegy for Tyson Stone (HKNA Newsletter)

I wrote an elegy for a friend who passed away. It was published here on p 5.

We Remember Tyson Stone

A few months ago, Kenwood lost Tyson "Champ" Stone. In life, he worked for the city’s sanitation department and had always been a resident of St. Pete, as well as a long-term resident of Historic Kenwood.

We would see him driving his shining, silver pickup truck in the neighborhood, usually on 21st ST N or 8th Ave N. He waved at many of us, spread kindness to all he knew, looked out for his neighbors, and was truly a good man.

We have lost many fine people in our community. It’s painful to lose so many important friends and neighbors, just as it’s painful to realize we’ll never have the opportunity to see Tyson’s wonderful smile in person again. Friends and neighbors of Tyson are forever changed by his good spirit and we miss him.
